![]() Aurora 1387 a387bs Thunderbike Silver / Blue [1967-70] Aurora made three different motorcycle colors: red, silver and blue. The color of the bike is determined by the color of the gas tank and one-piece front fender/headlight. These should always match. Aurora made four rider colors: yellow, white, red and blue. The color of the riders is simply the jacket they're wearing; the saddle bags always match the jacket. The all blue Thunderbike is the rarest. The blue bike always had a blue rider. Yellow and white riders only came on red bikes. Silver motorcycle had red or blue rider. The yellow actually came in dark and light. It was painted on green or dark gray plastic. Red was painted on either white or black plastic or it was actually red plastic. Some refer to the red on black as "wine." Blue was painted on either white or dark plastic or it was actually blue plastic. All the yellow and white drivers had red rear fenders painted on them and red trim on saddle bags. The red and blue drivers can have silver fenders with silver stripes on the saddle bags. Red and blue drivers always had either a silver bike or a bike in their own color. Silver bikes never had a colored fender. The early "USA made" bikes were fitted with the early, skinny, truck tire up front. Later (possibly when manufacturing went overseas), the "slick" was used for the front tire. The very last ones used the "slick with tread." Front headlight and gas tank are often missing since they come off easily. |
